- Make sure that your software and OS X are up-to-date. This is easy to do with software purchased from the Mac App Store. The same goes for OS X. Launch the Mac App Store on your Mac, and you'll see the list of pending updates, including any for the OS X itself.
- I deleted cache files - forced it to re-download the ipsw file - but always the same negative result. Now I logged in as an Admin on my Mac (OS X 10.6.8) and the installer hangs when it says it is unzipping the ipsw file. Takes forever and does nothing! This piece of crap is broken.
- OS 9.1 is the final version that Apple allows to install on anything previous to the Beige G3. What are the benefits of installing 9.2.x? Apple touted 9.2.1 as a minor update to 9.1 that added 'better classic compatibility'.
